My Sister’s Butter began in a Brooklyn walk-up, born from my personal journey of healing and discovery. After breakouts caused by coconut oil in my homemade shea butter, I dove deep into researching clean, non-comedogenic ingredients. When I reconnected with my now fiancé, who struggled with eczema since high school, I created a custom blend that helped clear his skin, inspiring me to share my creations with others. In 2017, after learning I was pregnant, I committed to using only natural products on and in our bodies. That same year, we lost our daughter, Nala Ducille Johnson, who was stillborn. In 2020, we welcomed our rainbow baby, Sary Nala Ducille-Johnson. The brand name honors the sister she never met. The bumble bee in our logo? It was part of Nala’s baby shower theme, and now stands as a symbol of hope, healing, and the beauty that blooms from loss.
